“Weight loss” is a very common topic of discussion among us, but whenever we are planning to start a weight loss regime first thing that comes to our mind is either exercise or green vegetables and fruits. True, these are required for weight loss, but do you know there is also a hidden treasure in your kitchen that can regulate your weight loss process in an easy way, yes I am talking about seeds, In this article, I will share a few seeds that are full of fiber, protein, nutrients and unsaturated fatty acids.

- Cumin seeds.
- Carom Seeds
- Flax Seeds
- Chia Seeds
1.Cumin Seeds:
Cumin has been found beneficial in the weight loss process as it increases your metabolism and improves your digestion system. If you have a good metabolism then automatically you will lose weight faster. Not only in weight loss but many other health conditions cumin is found to be very beneficial. It will not target any particular area of your body but with regular consumption and with a good diet you can see changes in yourself.
How to use cumin seeds for weight loss
There is not one way to consume cumin seeds you can have in any form either in powder, can add in your yogurt. I am sharing two different ways to use cumin seeds that can improve your metabolism very fast.
- Cumin Drink
Take 2 tablespoons of cumin seeds and soak in one cup of water overnight, strain this water in the morning and add some lemon juice and drink first thing in the morning. Drink it for 3 weeks on a regular basis to see the changes.
2. Cumin Ginger Drink
Yet another amazing drink you can make with cumin seeds. Take 2 tablespoons of cumin seeds and put them in a pan with one glass of water, boil the water on low to medium flame till the water color changes and it becomes half in quantity. Now add half a teaspoon ginger juice and one tablespoon lemon juice to it, you can also add honey if you find it a little bitter in taste. Have this drink daily empty stomach for 15 days.
2.Carom Seeds:
Carom seeds is a very common name in Indian household. The health benefit of Carom seeds is known to all of us as it is beneficial to improve our digestion system, acidity reflex and, also in cold and cough carom seeds always come in rescue. These wonder seeds contain an essential oil that is Thymol, which is antiseptic and also has anti-inflammatory properties. But today I will tell you one hidden benefit of Carom seeds and that is “Weight Loss”, yes you heard me right it is very helpful in increasing your metabolism and hence speeding your weight loss process.
How to use Carom Seeds for weight loss:
- Carom And Honey Water
Take 2 tablespoons of carom seeds say 25 gm and soak it in the 250 ml of water overnight. Mix the seeds with water in the morning with the help of a spoon and strain in another glass, now for added benefits, you can add one teaspoon of honey in it and yes you are good to go your amazing health drink is ready. Remember to have this first thing in the morning. Take this daily for 21 days to see the visible changes.
2. Roasted Carom Seeds
If you don’t have enough time in the morning to prepare a drink or you forget to soak in last night, this is another easy-to-go method that you can apply. For this, you have to take 250 grams of carom seeds and dry roast them once it cools then transfer them to an airtight container. Have one teaspoon daily before half n hour of breakfast. You can also have it before any meals if you like the taste.
3.Flax Seeds:
Flax seeds are yet another seeds that are very popular due to their nutrient contents. Flax seeds contain many healthy components but the three components that make them very desirable for consumption are Omega 3 essential fatty acids, fiber, and lignans which have both antioxidant and estrogen quality. As it contains a high quantity of fiber, and fiber has shown to be very effective in suppressing your hunger and cravings that ultimately lead to weight loss.
How to use Flax Seeds for weight loss:
- Flax Seeds Powder
Grind a good quantity of flaxseed in a grinder and store it in the refrigerator, it will prevent flax seeds from getting rancid. You can add flax seeds powder to food or can consume it directly. The grinding team in the fine powder will make it easy to digest and also release the active oils.
2. Flax Seeds Sprouts
You can also make flax seeds sprout like you make any sprouts, soak them in water overnight then drain the water and wash them in running water it will take a jelly form so drain as much water as possible, and let them grow in sprouts. Now you can add it to salad or fruits, this is a very healthy way to consume flax seeds.
4.Chia Seeds
Chia seed is full of nutrients, they are an excellent source of protein, calcium, omega 3 fatty acids, fiber, and also rich in antioxidants. Only eating one ounce of chia seeds can fulfill your 18-20% of daily calcium required. It contains approx 5gm of fiber in just one tablespoon of seeds. Due to its high fiber content and omega acids, it helps in weight loss up to a good extent.

- Chia Seeds with yogurt
There are many ways to consume Chia seeds but one of the easiest and healthy options is to add one teaspoon of chia seeds to your yogurt. Together they make a very healthy option for your evening snacks craving.
2. Soaked Chia Seeds
You can also soak one tablespoon of chia seeds for 3,4 hours it will take a jelly form you can consume it as it is or can add in your food, either way, it will keep you full for longer, and subside your cravings for anything.
These all seeds can only increase your metabolism and supports you well in the weight loss process but only consuming this will not be much effective. In order to lose weight and lead a healthy life, you must have to follow a healthy diet that includes green vegetables and fruits along with some kind of physical activity in which you find yourself comfortable.
