Teething is a process in which the baby’s teeth start breaking out from the gums. Mostly it happens in between 6 to 24 months, but not necessary to be in this period. Every child is different and so is their growth. if the kid’s teeth come before and after this period need not worry. Always consult your doctor if you have any worries related to the health of your loved ones.
Symptoms of teething:
- Restless sleep in night due to discomfort in gum.
- Swolen Gums.
- Bringing hands continually to mouth.
- Irritated child .
- Increased drooling.
- Rubbing his chick and area around the ear ,this can be cause of pain .
- Biting more frequently.
- Loss of appetite
- In some cases there may be rashes around the cheek areas.
- Teething fever
Order in which tooth eruption occurs:
- Central incisors- Between 6 to 12 months
- Lateral incisors- Between 9 to 16 months
- Canine Teeth- Between 16 to 23 months
- First Molar- Between 13 to 19 months
- Second Molar- Between 22 to 24 months
How to ease teething discomfort :
- Rub your baby’s gum – Rub your baby gum with a clean finger or with any clean gauge. This will help in easing the gum pain in babies.
- Cold Press- Use a chilled spoon or any cool teething ring around the gums it will soothe the pain around the gum area.
- Over the counter medication –If your baby is cranky and crying because of pain. You can consult with the pediatrician and give some pain relief medication. It will help in sleeping.
- Offer Cool Water– If the baby is more than 6 months in age, you can offer cool water in a sipper.
Teething can be hard for both you and the baby initially. Once you understand the process and ways to soothe it. It will be easier with every new tooth that pops out. Every kid is different and so is their growth. Teeth will erupt once the gum is ready. So don’t get impatient give your babies their own time.
